Saving money!

I am pretty excited about this shopping trip, so I thought I would share it with all of you!

I spent $17.01 OOP but saved $41.04 or 71% woo hoo! This is HUGE savings when it comes to grocery items! I have been able to save this much on household goods, but this is really the first time I have saved this much on food.

So I took advantage of the Kraft catalina promo at Safeway. Shredded cheese is cheaper at Fred Meyer (where I found 2 $1.00/2 blinkies), but I wanted a Safeway catalina since that is where I was doing most of my shopping. I spent $7.95 OOP on the cheese after coupons, and recieved a $5.00 catalina back.
Safeway had some awesome in ad coupons this week, I used one for the Hefty trash bags, one for the yogurt, and one for the pasta sauce. I had manufacturer coupons for all of these! I printed a $1.00 Hefty coupon from their facebook page, and found a $.55 peelie on the box. Printed 2 $1.00 yoplus coupons from coupons.com. I clipped 3 $1.50 Classico coupons from 3 Albertsons ads (made the pasta sauce $.74 each! I can't make my own for that price!!). The only thing I didn't have a coupon for was my sour cream. But I wanted it for dinner tomorrow night, so I paid full price. bummer. After I used my $5.00 catalina from the first transaction, my OOP was $6.38.....less than the original price of the trashbags!
While I was at Albertsons picking up a few extra ads, I bought the produce. 3 bananas, 2 roma tomatos, 1 green pepper and 1 mango....OOP $.68! How? I signed up for an Albertsons weekly email here: https://emailsignup.albertsons.com/ and used the promo code PRODUCE to get a $2.00 coupon!
At Fred Meyer, I bought 4 bags of Quaker rice cakes. They have a tear pad of in store coupons 5/$5. I printed 2 $1.00/2 coupons from Quaker.com. $2.00 for 4 bags! I also tried buying a box of girly supplies since I had a $2.00 eCoupon and a $2.00 paper coupon. would have made them $.19, but my eCoupon didn't come off, and I didn't want to pay $2.19 when I know I can get them for $.19! I will have to print off my list of eCoupons and go back :(
And for an added bonus, when I got home I found a free sample of shampoo and conditioner in my mailbox....score!!
