New Year Resolutions

I have never really been a big resolution maker (or keeper). For some reason, this year I feel like I do need to make some New Year resolutions--and hopefully keep them!

I got married October 2008, we had our first daughter in February of 2010, and our second in April of 2011. So in 3 years I went from being single to married with two kids! That is a lot of change in very little time (although every bit of it is worth it!)

With 2 kids this last Christmas, my little family gained a LOT of new stuff. I am starting to feel like my house is taking over, so I have put my house on a diet. Not only am I going to organize my house this year, but I am going to establish routines that will hopefully make my life a little easier!

Who wants to go on this journey with me?

My goals for January are to de-clutter my bedroom and train myself to clean my bathroom everyday.

I am inspired to de-clutter my bedroom because I am bad at setting something on my dresser and then leaving it there forever. You know it is bad when you set just one more something on it and everything slowly slides off starting a mini avalanche.

I am inspired to clean my bathroom everyday because of an article I read on FLYlady. The bathroom is the one room of my house that I have always liked to keep clean. I used to clean it once a week, but now that I am home all the time it just needs a little more TLC. I love the idea of having cleaner and wash rags in the bathroom, readily available.

I think I am going to buy these ones of off Amazon so I have a cleaning rag in my bathroom at all times (plus WAY less gross than a sponge!)

Amazon: Free music and cheap movies

I have been having some fun this morning downloading free music off of Amazon. They have over 100 mp3 singles that you can download absolutely free; everything from kid's music, to gospel, to Christmas music!

Amazon is also offering a 25 days of Christmas music download. Today's free song is Ave Maria by Celtic Women (LOVE them!).

I also love that Amazon offers $.99 new release movies that you can stream and watch on your computer (or on your TV if you have a fancy one. I don't). If you buy Amazon gift cards with your Swagbucks, you can use them to pay and watch your movies for free.

A Swagbucks code hunt....I love these! :)

Swagbucks and Free items from Amazon!

Okay, I have shared this one before but, thought I would show you my latest Amazon freebie.

This is what my order summary looked like when I was done. This is a 156 count box of diapers that I paid absolutely nothing for! If you want to learn how I did this, read this post. It will take you step by step to get super cheap diapers off of Amazon. I love that they are delivered to your door and you don't really have to work or play the drugstore games to get them! :)

So, now on to Swagbucks. I am still somewhat new to Swagbucks so I can't tell you how to rack up major bucks or anything but I am having fun with it and wanted to share.

What is Swagbucks? "It's like a frequent flyer mile for using the web." Basically, you use their search engine and you earn "points". These you can turn in for prizes once you have earned a set amount. I am a fan of earning Amazon $5.00 gift cards (what was used to purchase the diaper order above). Since it is free money, I like to buy things that are fun instead of having to worry about if the item is a need or a want. A few things I have purchased are diapers (FREE diapers rock!!!), fun books to spoil my little one, and an espresso tamper--to spoil me :)
