When I first started couponing, I bought toothpaste for $1.50 a tube. I thought I had just scored an awesome deal, and was super excited about it! Now that I have been couponing for a little while I realize I paid $1.50 too much! You can get free toothpaste all the time--we have scored free Aquafresh, Colgate, and Crest toothpaste. And it isn't just the cheap stuff. It is the expensive toothpaste also--our Colgate was originally $4.49. Riteaid had it on sale for $2.99 and if you bought it you would get a $2.00 +up reward. We had $1.00 coupons so we paid $1.99 OOP for the first tube then rolled the +up reward to pay for the next tube and so on.
This coming week at Walgreens (7/18-7/24) Colgate is $3.49 and you get a $3.49 register reward back. Last Sunday's paper had $1.00 colgate coupons.....so really you would pay $2.49 OOP and you would get a $3.49 RR--making $1.00 by buying toothpaste!
Toothbrushes are right along with the free toothpaste! I have so many free toothbrushes that I am going to start donating some to local shelters. Most of them I paid nothing out of pocket for!
You can get free deodorant (or pretty close to it). A few weeks ago Walgreens had Sure deodorant on sale for $1.99 get a $1.00 RR back. I had $1.00 coupons for it. So I paid $.99 OOP and got a $1.00 RR back. Which I then used to buy my Sunday paper the next week!!! :)
I got $.49 Dove deodorant at Target. I printed off a $2.00 coupon and a $1.00 target coupon. $3.00 off one!
Dish soap is another item you can occasionally get free--and when you do, stock up! Last week at Riteaid it was on sale for $.99 and we had $1.00 coupons from the Home made simple coupon booklet that they send in the mail (I posted about how to sign up for one last week on Facebook).
Girly supplies you can occasionally get free. When I found U-Kotex tampons for free after RR at walgreens, I stocked up. Girly supplies are CRAZY expensive, why pay full price when you shouldn't have to!
This is what we get for free, what do you get for free?
I just don't have the patience to go through all the coupons then go store hopping. We'll have to plan a day to make store hopping an outing. Good job Rachel!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get all of this in one day! I just wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to get items that you use every day for free! this week I focused on walgreens because they have a money maker on toothpaste, and free pilot G2 pens! other than that I hit Albertsons for eggs and that was it. Couponing really doesn't take as much time as everyone thinks it does. once you get the hang of it, it can take as little as 10 minutes a day.
ReplyDeleteps. this is Shannan :)
